Twin Transition in the Electronics Industry: Making Sustainability Measurable
Digital transformation and sustainability are increasingly developing together. For small and medium-sized industrial companies, one of the main challenges is connecting production data, energy use and environmental indicators in a way that supports real decisions.
The GreenIoT4KMU project brings together partners from research, industry and consulting to address this Twin Transition in the electronics industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. The aim is to combine data from different systems and translate it into reliable indicators for operational and strategic management.
A key focus is connecting shopfloor information with higher-level Green KPIs. This allows companies to evaluate not only process performance, but also the factors that influence energy consumption, resource efficiency and sustainability performance.
Stemann Consulting contributes expertise in data analysis, process improvement, KPI systems and Root Cause Analysis. The objective is not simply to collect more data. Indicators need to be understandable, reveal meaningful relationships and support concrete improvement actions.
GreenIoT4KMU therefore creates a practical foundation for companies that want to manage digitalization and sustainability together. By combining IoT data, process knowledge and structured analysis, ecological and economic performance can be assessed within the same improvement framework.
The project is implemented together with partners including RIF, DnA, Karolick, JUNG and Stemann Consulting
