Green Belt Certificates Awarded at TU Dortmund

On April 17, a total of seven participants were once again certified as Six Sigma Green Belts at TU Dortmund University.

Six Sigma is a systematic approach to process improvement using analytical and statistical methods. What distinguishes Six Sigma from other process improvement methods is its mathematical approach. Six Sigma certifications are a valuable additional qualification for data- and process-oriented roles in industry and consulting.

Since 2014, the Department of Statistics has been offering students at TU Dortmund University the opportunity to qualify as Six Sigma Green Belts in cooperation with Stemann Consulting (formerly MTS Consulting Partner). The participants are supervised by Honorary Professor Prof. Dr. Dietmar Stemann. From the Department of Statistics, Markus Pauly and Paavo Sattler are involved in the project.

Participants typically come from the departments of Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering, as well as from Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Duisburg-Essen.
